Rajalekshmy "Raji" Shyam
Principal Investigator
Raji is an Assistant Professor at the Indiana University School of Optometry.
Science Interests :
Cell signaling pathways that regulate corneal endothelial homeostasis. Raji is just as interested in the mentoring aspect of being a PI.
Non-Science Interests:
When away from the lab, Raji enjoys long walks with her dogs, fostering animals, and road trips with her family.
Fun fact :
Raji moved to the United States from South India many years ago, but she still can be easily manipulated with good south Indian food.
Subashree Murugan
Ph.D. Candidate
Subashree is an Optometrist from India who is currently in graduate school.
Science Interests :
Role of protein clearance pathways in corneal endothelial cells
Non-Science Interests:
Subashree enjoys hiking with friends, painting, listening to worship music, nature photography and playing basketball
Fun fact :
Subashree loves being around kids and is an amateur mimic.
Sachin Anil Ghag
Ph.D. Candidate
Sachin has Masters in Biophysics from India, and before coming to the USA, he worked for three years on an Indian Council of Medical Research-sponsored research project

Aging in the corneal endothlium
Non-Science Interests:
Photography, Playing Cricket, Trekking, Travelling
Fun fact :
His father named him after a cricket player (Sachin Tendulkar) known as the god of cricket.
